The Garden Collective is a place where you can talk to, read and listen to some of the most thoughtful garden writers working today. Subscribers receive essays, seasonal notes, reflections and stories, all read aloud by the authors themselves. There are spaces to add your reflections on the topics covered and a place where you can pose your most pressing gardening questions to top designers, plant experts, and specialists in houseplants and plant heritage. 

Who are the Garden Collective?

When the top writers, designers and plantspeople were selected to be invited into the Garden Collective, they had to meet all three parts of the job description:

They had to be able to write beautifully, thoughtfully, and with passion. 

They had to be obsessed with something about gardening.

They had to be someone we would be delighted to find ourselves seated next to at a dinner party that we hadn’t really wanted to attend.

The result is a group of gardeners you may already know, and others you’ll come to treasure, not just because they’re famous, but because they’re thoughtful, generous, and deeply engaged in their work.  

Everything you read, hear or watch in the Garden Collective is made by us, real people. We don’t use AI to write, create, or replace human voices.

 Who is the Garden Collective for?

For people who adore every part of gardening. The plants, of course, but also the language, the history, the future, the culture, the great design moments, the turning points and the talking points. 

Growing plants, loving them, nurturing them, and eating them.

Whether you garden in pots, courtyards, allotments or fields, whether you’re just beginning or decades in, there is room here for your questions and your curiosity. There is no hierarchy of expertise or age, only shared attention and a love of gardens in all their forms.

What do I get as a subscriber?

It is £7 a month, or £70 a year. If you subscribed to all of the incredible writers in the Garden Collective on any other platform, it would cost you around £200 for the year. You can’t though, because many of our writers only write in this way for the Garden Collective.
